In depth coordination with all disciplines was achieved during design and the construction process of both phases. This collaboration allowed us to develop cost effective and environmentally conscious solutions that contributed to our LEED certification in phase two. One example of this interdisciplinary coordination was the specification of high velocity low speed fans to optimize air circulation to reduce HVAC loads on the building.
NWS was the shell and interior build out architect for Grainger, a 234 thousand square foot distribution warehouse. To efficiently meet client goals, Grainer’s construction was split into two phases. Phase one included the warehouse shell construction and master planning work. Phase two included a 5,000 square foot office build out and LEED certification.
